Full Sail Student Branding Society Inaugural Meeting

On July 1, 2010, the Student Branding Society at Full Sail University held its inaugural meeting. There were 30 members present as keynote speaker Laura Gainor from Comet Branding presented her incredible story about how she landed her dream job by utilizing social media. Laura Gainor’s SlideShare.net presentation is responsible for guiding my life’s vision of one day establishing the FullGator Marketing Academy aimed at assisting students in developing, implementing and maintaining their personal brands via social media. You can imagine my excitement as I had the opportunity to introduce this inspirational professional and listen to her speak about personal branding. Laura also developed a slide show designed specifically for our meeting called, How To Create Your Personal Brand Through Social Media. Not but 3 days after presenting at Full Sail, Laura’s presentation on SlideShare.net received the prestigious “Presentation Of The Day Award” as it was viewed over 3,000 times! Here is that presentation:

The Student Branding Society (SBS) would not have been possible without the help and guidance of Course Director Rob Croll. Mr. Croll is the faculty sponsor for the SBS and has spent countless hours assisting me in the development of this great society. The SBS’s current and future success is in large part thanks to Rob Croll.

The Student Branding Society will always have a keynote speaker at the formal meetings. Formal meetings, taking place on the first Thursday of every month, will discuss topics relating to self-discovery and personal brand development, implementation, and maintenance. Each member of the SBS will graduate with a well-established personal brand as well as a network of influential professionals in the Internet marketing, website design and development, graphic design, and entertainment business industries.

Ryan – Thanks for sharing the credit, but the success of the Student Branding Society rests squarely on your shoulders. Your motivation, persistence and effort have really paid off in the development of a club that could truly benefit all our students.

Laura’s story and presentation were an awesome way to kick things off, and I’m really excited to see where you all take the club going forward.
